Kick-Ass, based on the comic book of the same name by John Romita, Jr. and Mark Millar, follows the adventures of an angst-filled teen named Dave Lizewski, who decides to become a superhero named 'Kick Ass.' With a premise like that, the options for song inclusions are virtually endless, which is a line the producers dutifully towed when compiling the soundtrack. The Prodigy, Ennio Morricone, Primal Scream, Elvis Presley, Sparks, New York Dolls, and the Dickies all make an appearance, resulting in one of the more enjoyable, vaguely schizophrenic compilations of 2010.
